Butch Halpin's Tribute Show to Elvis Presley

I have been a fan of Elvis Presley for literally as long as I can remember. I have been singing several of his songs in my DJ shows for over 20 years. In April of 2010, I was asked by a local nursing home to present a program of Elvis' music. To make it fun, I dressed the part with what I had in my closet and with a $15.00 wig and glasses from the costume store. When it was over, I had two people wanting to book me for an Elvis Tribute Show. I politely told them that this was just a "one time deal" and that I didn't consider myself a bona fide Elvis Tribute Artist (ETA). One was persistent about booking me, so I started to give this some serious thought. With the encouragement of my friend and ETA, Ken Jordan, I decided to give it my best shot.

My first "official ETA job" was October 30, 2010 in Clarkton, NC. It went over much better than I had anticipated and since then, have made several more bookings in 2011. I have found it amazing of the number of younger people who are such avid Elvis fans.

Blue Suede Memories is the name of my Elvis Tribute Show. In it, I perform his songs in "Elvis attire & style", as well as give a little trivia on many of them. I do take requests from the audience if I have the backing tracks available, but have been known to sing a verse or chorus of a request a capella. A couple of songs that you do not usually hear performed are also usually added in each show. It's all about having fun and making people smile while paying tribute to one of the most influential & dynamic performers in the history of American Music in a professional and tasteful manner. The typical show runs 60 minutes. Price varies, depending on distance to the show, whether a sound system is provided and how many shows are requested. All my tracks are of high quality with professional backing vocals and instrumentation.
