Welcome to the online home of
A Word About This Page . . .

This page is intended to inform Beach Music fans of new releases of music they may enjoy. You'll not find any CD or CD single graded by letters, stars, numerical grades, weejuns or any other symbol. Just because a track (or several tracks) is/are listed does not mean everyone will like it or that's all "worth listening to" on the CD. Any opinions are just that, my opinions. Sometimes a track will really grab my attention more than others. The same may be or not be true for you or anyone else who listens to the same music. Several years ago Bo Schronce and I had a conversation about music. He asked me, "Butch, do you know what music is?" Before I could answer, he said "Music is opinion. What one person thinks is great music, another thinks is $#!%." That statement has stayed with me since then. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. That being said, here are some releases for you to form your own opinion about:

Stepping Out Tonight - Various Artists - KHP Music

13 is a lucky number when it's the number of great tracks on this latest compilation from KHP Music. From the first track, "Come Get To This/Stepping Out Tonight" from LJ Reynolds, a great shag tune (and in other parts of the USA they created a line dance to it), to the Gospel flavored "Come On" from New Jersey's Sons of Saint Rocco to the smooth Carolina Shag Mix of Roy Hamilton's "I'm In Heaven When I'm With You" this CD is a must have for fans and DJ's alike. Jim Quick does a good job covering Alexander O'Neal's "All That Matters To Me and Atlantic Groove lends us the already radio favorite "I'm Crazy 'bout That Woman In Red". Other artists represented here are The Fantastic Shakers who deliver the belly rubber "I Don't Like To Sleep Alone" and Breeze Band (some of Dink's old band mates from the early days), Phil Wilson & Jackie Gore, LJ Echols with his killer tune, "From The Back", Phil "Doc" Wilson and Jackie Gore teaming up on "Old Friends", Winzell Kelly from The Dramatics, Legacy, Kingdaddy and The Carolina Breakers.

Where The Boys Are - Rhonda McDaniel - KHP Music

If you guessed the title track is a cover of the Connie Francis classic, you guessed right. If you guessed nobody could touch the original version, you guessed wrong, but thank you for playing and watch your step as you walk off the stage. There are a dozen selections for your music loving ears on Rhonda McDaniel's latest CD. There are four cuts that were previously released on compilations, but it's good to have them on a "Rhonda CD" as well as new tunes like "Sneakin' Around With You", "Look Me In The Heart", "Teardrops From My Eyes", "Look Before You Leap", "Be Serious", "I Can't Get You Off My Mind", "Power in Music" and of course, "Where The Boys Are". The production is excellent and Rhonda is in top vocal form as well. Do yourself a favor and add this one to your collection.
